Day 295 – 307 – Back to Reality & the Next Challenge!May 2nd, 2014 by David
It has been a couple of weeks now since my last blog. After the ecstasy of completing the London Marathon I decided to sit back and reflect on my monumental achievement over the last 10 months. To go from nearly 400 pounds to the finishing line of a marathon in less than a year is staggering and I don’t think that I have allowed it all to sink in. After landing back in Kazakhstan I made the decision to take a week off to recover from the marathon and reward myself for all of the hard work over the last 9 months. It was nice to take a breather but at the same time I was itching to go again!
I signed up with a personal trainer for a 12 week ‘Transformation’ Program, which I am now in my second week of. It is designed to build up lean muscle whilst stripping fat. All the training for the marathon left me with strong legs but the rest of my body is weak after sitting behind a desk and in the pub for the last 10 years! I have to train 5 times a week covering various parts of my body each week so I get an all over work out. My diet is very controlled and I eat small portions more often at scheduled times through the day. It takes discipline but over the last 2 weeks I have noticed a massive difference. I feel stronger and less tired, my muscles are starting to develop and the weight is dropping off me!
Once I have completed the 12 week program I will focus my attention on a new challenge (to be confirmed! Ideas welcomed!) But in the meantime I am focused on continuing the weight loss and pushing on to become the person that I want to be. The marathon was a fantastic achievement but it is just the beginning, there is so much more to come and I can’t wait to experience it. At the beginning of July I am heading out to Dubai to launch ‘The Feeling of Success’ in the Middle East. I have just finished development of my business plan for creation of a Smartphone & Tablet application and have started the process of trying to find investment so I can turn the concept into reality! There are really exciting times coming up and I can’t wait to take these opportunities and create the person I have always wanted to be – happy, healthy and successful!
