Day 143 – 145 – Team BuildingNovember 18th, 2013 by David
There has been a lot of pressure and long hours at work recently and my team have been fantastic, so to thank them for their hard work and patience I decided to take them out for a night of karaoke. It was great to see them enjoy themselves and relax, at work you don’t always get to see the real person as they are shy to come out and be themselves. After they had enjoyed a few whiskies though their personalities shone and it was a great bonding session. As is the norm now I didn’t drink and ate a salad, it is my easy option when I am out with friends, if I am still hungry when I get home that is fine because I am hungry in my comfort zone and know that I can stay on track. Through permanent actions I have made permanent changes and with each good decision I move closer to my goal.
To make these good decisions though you have to embrace and make the change. It is daunting to make the initial decision to change your life because you know that it takes hard work, time, patience and dedication to achieve your goals. This is not easy, it is tiring and testing, but the rewards are worth it. Watching other people drink and eat what they want and knowing that I am in control of the situation, that I can still have fun and not put my goal at risk, moving forward at an unrelenting pace is a great feeling. 5 months have passed since I started my quest for a new life and it has flown past. It is going to take time to get where you want to be but if you don’t start now you will never get there. Don’t put it off, accept the fact that change takes time and requires patience. Be strong, the time will fly past and the results will be here sooner than you think. The hardest step is the first one but it is the best one you will ever make.
I am half way to achieving my
goal of running the London Marathon, there is still a considerable amount of hard work ahead as the distance needed to cover increase dramatically, but I am ready for it, both physically and mentally. I have never wanted something more in my life and it is an amazing feeling when you understand why and
what it is that causes you to make the change needed to transform yourself and become the person that you have always wanted to be. I am in a fantastic place and knowing that the hard work and dedication that I am putting in is making my vision and dream a reality pushes me harder and further, motivating me to attain the feeling of success and become the person that I deserve to be.
