Day 113 – 119 – Late Nights, The Weekend & Kyrgyzstan!October 21st, 2013 by David
This week has been crazy!
I have been working hard into the night on the finishing touches to the new website and developing my social media as well as catching up on emails and paperwork that have put to one side. I am used to the late nights after working all day with my MBA studies over the last two years however there still comes a point where you need to take a step back and breathe. Raushana has been supportive and pushing me to take my time and reflect on the progress I have made. We have talked previously about the potential for burnout but I have always been dismissive due to my drive to succeed. However over the weekend she made an excellent point that really got me thinking. She said that every
time that she enquires as to how I sleep 99% of the time I respond with a negative (I have never slept well) and that when she asks how I am feeling at the end of the day I always reply with the word shattered!
The weekend was great, Raushana was back from her business trip and we spent time relaxing and catching up on The Big Bang Theory. I had to leave Sunday afternoon as I had to catch a flight to Kyrgyzstan. It is that time of the year when I have to leave Kazakhstan for a short period to
renew my visa however this time I will have to stay away for a week. This wouldn’t usually bother me, paid to travel and stay in hotels however with the current political climate in Kyrgyzstan I have been advised not to leave the hotel! I checked and the hotel has a gym so at least I will be able to get my training in!
